Concept
What a great summer it has been for City Queens! Together with Culture Club and Me So Horny we hosted a memorable night during the Ghent Festivities with none other than Mr. Snoop Dogg himself as DJ Snoopadelic at Klankfest. In August our resident DJ’s killed it in the Red Bull Elektropedia Room at the Lokerse Feesten.
This autumn, on October 31st, we’re taking over our beloved Vooruit once again, for the next chapter in the City Queens-story. During the past 15 years, City Queens has never changed its direction or image. Our sole purpose was and remains to keep the true old-school spirit alive by selecting only the very best in urban music.
From classic Hip-Hop tunes to sexy 90’s R&B and early 00’s dancehall, you will hear it all. Belgium’s finest DJ’s and pioneers in this genre, TLP, Davidov, Killa Tactics and Black Frank are very happy to present you another magical lesson in black-music history.
Black Frank has a big reputation in warming-up and cooling-down sets in which he floats in between 90’s R&B and the new, trap-based HipHop. Clean mixing and quality music-selection are his trademarks for which he gets all credit. From Polé Polé festival, to Magic’s “Club 808” concept, from TMF Coolsweat to City Queens, there’s no sexier way to start or finish a party in his inimitable style.
After many years in the field, Davidov now combines small, cosy club and party-gigs (Charlatan, Club 69, Magic, Forty Five, …) with big venues and events (Culture Club, Versuz, City Queens, Funky Fabric, …) and festival stages (Tomorrowland, Feest ih Park, Lokerse Feesten, Summer Festival, Laundry Day, …). And no matter where he plays, he always sets the house on fire!
Killa Tactics crew is a dj collective that took the world by storm in the late 90’s, consequently ranking among the top in national and international battles. They became vice champion at the ITF World Championships in 2001 and 2002, but then retired from the competition circuit. The 2 founders each went their own separate ways but on special, limited occasions they reunite as one powerful duo. Get ready to be swept off your feet by DJ Dysfunkshunal and DJ Damented.
And last but not least: TLP who has been destroying about every major festival this summer. Among the many titles on his lengthy resume are rapper / freestyle MC, music writer, hiphop spokesman, recording artist and radio host. With more than two decades of field experience under his belt, TLP is a musical force to be reckoned with. He’s an unstoppable, musical phenomenon with a notorious rep stretching far beyond his native ground.
